Notes:
1. If the stamp has Head Type I, is perforated 13½ x 14¼ with large holes and is printed on quadrille paper, it is an Original (Scott #8). 2. If the stamp has Head Type I, is perforated 13½ x 14¼ with small holes and is printed on white surfaced paper, it is the Leipsig Reprint. If it has Head Type I and is perforated 14 x 14, it is either the 1st or 2nd Hamburg Reprint which are difficult to separate unless examples are available for com- parison. 3. If the stamp has Head Type II and is perforated 13½ x 14¼ with large holes, it is either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Berlin Reprint. To distinguish which it is, use the ultra violet light. 4. If the stamp has Head Type II and is perforated 14 x!4, it is the 3rd Hamburg Reprint. |
