Notes:
1. If the stamp is perforated 13½ x 14¼ with large holes and the color is dark green and dark lilac carmine, it is an Original (Scott #15). 2. If the stamp is perforated 13½ x 14¼ with large holes and the color is dull green and light carmine red, it is the Berlin Reprint. If in doubt, examine under ultra violet light. The difference is dramatic. 3. If the stamp is perforated 13½ x 14¼ with small holes, it is the Leipsig Reprint. The color in ordinary light is very similar to that of the originals. 4. If the stamp is perforated 14 x 14, it is one of the three Hamburg Reprints. These are difficult to separate with- out examples for comparison. |
