Below is a medium enlargement of the nine Heligoland long cancels shown on the main Cancels page. Below that is the same shown at still greater magnification. It should be possible to accurately assess the shape and spacing of the letters in an unknown long cancel (Langstempel) using these images as a guide. Note there is no "i" in the German spelling of Heligoland. Forgeries often have the "i." The first three are the smaller LI and the remaining six are the larger LII (See the main Cancels page for exact dimensions.).
