General Watson inspects Judy's library

Judy was employed as a Department of the Army Civilian. That meant, among other things, that if she were captured, she should be treated as an officer under the Geneva Convention. She ran a fine library. General Thomas Watson, US Army Commander of Pacific Forces , came to Torii Station on an inspection tour and at the library, he met and chatted with Judy.

By now you have probably figured out that Judy was the most beautiful woman who ever set foot on Torii Station, and quite possibly, Okinawa. There is no reason why a General should not want to stop and chat with Judy.
