Judy Openlander and I were married during the wedding mass at Our Lady Chapel in Sacred Heart Church at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. The day was August 8th, 1964. |
Here are Judy and her Parents and her sisters Ann and Sue.

My mother, Mary Elizabeth Mayer Wagner, stands with the bride and groom. |

From left: Bill Bish, my lawschool roommate and a successful lawyer who also married a St. Mary's girl. Joe Papenfuss, a childhood friend from LaCrosse who became Racine Public Schools Administrator. Robert Brannan, English professor and my mentor at Notre Dame (He taught me how to think and took me into his home and family). Frank Papenfuss, brother of Joe and my very close friend through much of our youth. |
Uncle Claude and Aunt Leona were shy of being photographed as part of the official wedding party. To me, they were very important. |
