Looking through old art books one often saw a few tipped-in color plates but mostly black and white reproductions. In fact, some paintings burned or blown up during the Second World War are known only through black and white photos. Some of these black and white photos have a particular charm; and when I clicked on the color remover button I saw something I thought interesting enough to put up here.
