River Arno and Ponte Vecchio after T. Moricci. This was a large painting. It was copied from a postcard sent to me by Zecchi & Co. in Florence, my main source of paint pigments.
I hung it in my livingroom to get it out of the way while I worked on something else. One of my few "customers" saw it when he came to see me on other business and insisted on buying it in its unfinished state. I insisted he take it and he could pay me later ( I didn't want it there if I couldn't work on it--I needed the wall space).
To make the story perfect, my son knew him and said I would never get paid. I was never paid.
