DISCO DANCER. The two states were probably photographed one or two days apart. This shows clearly how a first day's work can be substantially changed, rather than merely refined, by later work.
I can't remember now why I abandoned this. Perhaps too static for a dancer. Perhaps the dark atmosphere limited the color range too much for a larger (4.5 X 2 feet) canvas. If you have limited wallspace to hang a finished work and you don't anticipate giving something away or selling it, then you can easily be reined in early. An artist with a commission (very desirable) always studies the room where the work will hang.
